Need some pointers to help 'get out-of-body'?

For myself, I was fortunate to have had some spontaneous adventures.  That gave me assurance that the phenomena was 'real'.  Later on, I found a book on how to initiate OBEs with step-by-step suggestions.  I kept it shelved for many years until one day I was motivated enough to reread it and do some of the suggestions.  It helped me learn how to prepare myself in advance and, ultimately, initiate my own, controlled, out-of-body experiences within a few weeks.

For myself, self-initiated OBEs take some effort (preparation, altering sleep patterns, paying attention to 'dreams' etc.) and require focused intent.

I also need to mention here that I think that what we eat, drink, and what we believe (do you fear?) play a huge role in all of this.  In my case, I feel that being vegan (cutting out what I consider to be harmful foods and drinks) and drinking distilled water(s) has helped me clean up my body and my mind.  I also do not believe in much... if anything.  Being fearless is paramount.

The book is called Out-of-Body Adventures by Rick Stack, and it helped me gain a new level of awareness and control over my inner (and outer) landscape.  Perhaps it will help you, too.

I am certain there are other great books on the subject.  I've only ever had one book on the subject and, since it helped me, I thought I'd mention it.

Personal note: I am NOT into following anyone, human or 'otherwise' (lol), so I am wary of the parts in the book that talk about this so-called 'Seth'.  Still, regardless of how some of the information in the book may have been gleaned, those parts (with 'Seth'), don't take away from the valuable content of the book.

If we are somebody while having an out of body experience, are we really out of body? Inquiring minds want to know!

Could an out of body experience have an out of body experience in an inception-ish sort of way?

What if an out of body experience became the norm, would we seek an out of body experience from it?

All the above probably seem like tongue and cheek responses to your fine thread, and they can be, but they can also be avenues/ adjuncts to an OBE.

P.s. What if a cat had a OBE, would this be one of them?

Well yes, I will have another! Thanks! Drink Wine

    Another glass?

Oh no, we can dispense with that!

The connection between initiating OBEs and drinking The Water of Life:

    With regard to initiating OBEs...

I'm talking here about physically cleaning up the body and the brain.

Andrew Norton Webber (with Lisa Harrison) talks about distilled water(s)

I make my own distilled water with a water distiller.  You can also buy distilled water in one gallon jugs.
You want pure water (no inorganic minerals/no particulates):  zero parts per million (0 ppm).

All I know is having OBEs is fun.  Have you not had one yet?  I'm not sure you'd be asking these questions if you had.

Anyway, I think there are a few things about having OBEs you ought to know first (like going in fearless and belief-less -- that sort of thing) but it's really just a blast.  It's like.... having your very own best ever roller coaster ride. cheers

    Have I?

The usual response after coming back is "What the hell was that?" even though there is a name for the experience and  usually in conjunction with an inner smile.

Now wait just one minute, ummm, okay I guess

What did you think, that was still Kansas or something??

Ahhh... so you've had some... 'what the hell was that' experiences'?  Some... inner smile experiences?  Super! Very Happy  It's been so long since I may (or may not) have spoken with you about this subject... can't remember.  I have talked with so many people about so many subjects it's one big blur.

We need a common frame of reference for this thread.  You are being a big pain in the arse, Joe. Toast

For everyone else who may be reading this, for someone who has never had an OBE before, when you DO have one, you will know.  Don't pay attention to Joe.  See, it's like the nose on your face.  It will be that obvious (and Joe, don't go into how we don't really 'see' and the nose is and isn't really there and confuse everyone even MORE than you already HAVE). Very Happy

Isn't that just the luck, my OBE is telling me I am not having an OBE. Oh, the infinite jest!

An OBE is like moving through the outer layers of perception. There are different kinds of OBE and so no two people are going to be able to describe what an OBE is in the same way. At least that is how I see it.

    Example:

Or standing at front door staring at someone that is also standing at their front door staring at you. At first thinking, who is that and then you realize it you! It has a similarity to a mirror but there is no physical mirror 'in between'. There is just a court yard in between.

Would you classify the above example as a part of an OBE or something else? And if something else, why?

Lol! Very Happy  Oh Joe, what will I do with you. rendeer

I gather that you have not read the book yet?  It's a good book (Out-of-Body Adventures).  It goes into lots of detail about all the 'different levels' of the OBE.  The explanations are very straight forward - what to expect and so forth.  From my own previous OBE (and lucid dream) experiences, I could relate again and again to what was said in the book.  Not limited to this book, I've read/heard about other people's OBE/lucid dream accounts and shared a few words here and there with them...  There are many commonalities.  After all, the machines (human bodies) we are using to have these OBEs seem to follow the same blueprint so that means any and all experiences we have in these bodies will have commonalities.
