    That’s My Story

A long time ago–even before time
when there was no time but now,
silence got stirred, set into motion
like waves on an ocean somehow.

I guess a restlessness to know
just who I am began to grow.

    And so I called out:
    ‘Can anyone hear me?
Is anyone near me out there?’

    But no one replied–
    and I felt frightened.
I think it was right then and there
that I created time and space
to hold a mirror to my face.

    That’s my story of creation
    That’s how worlds are born,
    how from naught,
    a thought becomes a form.

    I had to pretend
    that Oneness could shatter
then down into matter I came.
    And ten thousand forms
    burst into being–
    no two exactly the same…
but for as far as I could see,
    nothing but images of me.

    And for a while,
    I found it all thrilling,
but then the game went awry
Parts of my Self fell into grieving
    and started believing the lie,
and feeling lost began to roam
And so it’s time to call them home.

    That’s my tale of separation–
    call it what you will.
    This I sing for those
    who wander still.

    That’s my story of creation
    That’s how worlds are born,
    how from naught,
    a thought becomes a form.

A long time ago–even before time
when there was no time but now,
silence got stirred, set into motion
like waves on an ocean somehow.

Lyrics from the song That's my story by Kirtana

Russel Williams ‘Looking Through The Horse’s Eyes’ Interview by Iain McNay

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veDAgwg9jSo

Russel Williams ‘Looking Through The Horse’s Eyes’ Interview by Iain McNay.
Russel was born in 1921 in a very poor family. He was orphaned at 11 and came close to death many times. In the second world war he took part in the Dunkirk evacuation and lived through the Blitz. He was never afraid. He joined a circus after the war and worked with the animals. It was here that he suddenly became aware that, ‘I am the horses, dogs, the lion, the trees –everything is true nature.’
He hasn’t had any unwanted thoughts since he was 29 years old.
‘The only way to attain experience is to come to complete emptiness; that is to come to the end of the thought mind. But you will find that the emptiness was never empty because it is a potential for all that may come to be. We enter into an area of extremely fine aspects of consciousness that, dissolves into itself and loses duality. And then there is only ‘that.’
Everything leads back to this emptiness. No form of understanding can connect you to this. It has to be seen within itself. The peace that passes all understanding that is emptiness. It is completely fulfilling in itself. You can just BE instead of think.’

Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.

Nurit Oren ‘The Blonde On The Rocky Road to Freedom’ Interview by Iain McNay

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPmnSAF8epw

Author of ‘The Blind Leading The Blonde On The Road To Freedom.’ Nurit was born in Israel, her parents were atheist Jewish pioneers – in a Kibbutz where the kids lived separately – there was no family unit to relate to – was allowed to be wild/play naked. But all changed when family moved to Canada. In her late teens served in the Israeli army for two years where she was stationed in Gaza where it was very dangerous. One day she hitchhiked to the wailing wall in Jerusalem and stuck a piece of paper between the cracks saying ‘ I want to find true love, divine love, the love of God that is pure, unchanging and everlasting.’
Found books by Muktananda and went to live in his ashram in India where she was a dedicated disciple. There she got up at 3am every day – then meditation then chanting then work no breakfast, then chanting then lunch then work then more chanting then work, then dinner. There was no socialising at all. She had a kundalini awakening then decided to stay indefinitely. But Muktananda died.
Moved to Toronto, found a teacher called Dr Mills and stayed with him for 15 years.
She had then been on a spiritual path for 40 years and still didn’t feel free.
Met Gabor Harsanyi , ‘It’s very simple. Look at me and feel your hand without looking at it. Notice that your mind will stop.’ When she did this something shifted inside her…she felt a very subtle sensation of wellness and peace. ‘Now I get it’ she realised ‘This is it….this is what I have been searching for.’

    Old Souls
    by Steven Bancarz

Some people are just old souls and need to be accepted as such. If you are one of the people that gets called crazy for thinking you can feel people’s energy, or a hermit for needing to have time alone, or a ‘weirdo’ for believing in alternative things, the best thing you can do is continue to be true to yourself. As an old soul, trying to conform to a society that is hollow and spiritually void will only cause you pain and suffering. Don’t let authority figures or institutions pressure you into betraying your passions, desires, and natural state of being.
Here are 5 things that only old souls will understand:

The need for seclusion and isolation Every old soul knows the extreme importance of taking time away from life, people, and obligation and spending time alone in isolation. Life can be overwhelming at times, and the energies of other people can be exhausting. Spending time alone in nature, or sitting by yourself on a park bench, or spending all day in your room are things which have become necessary for your spiritual health at times. Some people may call you a hermit or say that you are socially challenged, but you just know the value of spending time alone to detox, reflect, and nurture yourself.
The desire for growth More than happiness and living comfortably, you want to live a life that encourages growth and expansion. You value growth and experience so much that you are willing to go through pain, suffering, and depression in order to learn more about yourself. You take risks and go on adventures that other people may think are unwise, but playing it safe is just too boring for you. At the end of your journey here on earth, you would love to have experienced a life full of ups and downs, suffering and joy, and amazing adventures as opposed to having experienced a life playing it safe.
Being highly observational and intuitive From a young age, you have been able to get a really good read on people. From watching someone interact for just a few minutes, you are able to identify the characteristics that person would have and the lifestyle they live. It’s almost like you have this software that allows you to look around and download the information on other souls. This is because you have seen the archetype of that person before in a past life and are familiar with the general behaviour and psychology of that archetype. You have interacted with thousands of people throughout the course of your souls history, so there is really no archetype you haven’t interacted with yet. This doesn’t mean you are judgmental, it just means you are observational. You may find yourself at parties or social gatherings looking around every once in a while checking things out. Watching people interact, observing the exchanges of energy that are occurring during conversation. You may even feel more comfortable as a distant observer than as a participant. It feels natural to you. Having the ability to get a good read on people has also given you a really good bullsh*t detector. When someone is lying to you, you know it. You notice the disassociation in their eyes, the shift in their energy field, the change in the way they pronounce words. You’ve been through this place many times before, so you aren’t socially naive, even though you may have not had much social interaction in this life. You’ve always been hard to manipulate because you can see into the real intentions and desires of other people. You are just good at feeling people out intuitively. Some people may call you creepy or think you are a wackjob for trying to be psychic, but it comes naturally to you to pick up on the thoughts and energies of other people.
The rejection for anything ‘mainstream’ Mainstream music is heartless, passionless, and washed up. Mainstream media is polluted, biased, and deceptive. The mainstream lifestyle is dry, boring, and disappointing. Because you recognize this, you have adopted ‘alternative’ ways of thinking and living that may seen weird to other people. Personally, I listen to a lot of atmospheric metal and post-rock because it offers me what I desire to receive out of music spiritually and existentially. I can’t stand the radio. I remember showing some people the music I liked and having them reply with “that’s not even music”. I’m sure I’m not alone in knowing what it feels like to feel excluded based on your alternative beliefs, tastes, and preferences.
The appreciation of the journey You have learned to trust and appreciate the journey. You aren’t trying to be “deep”, you simply can’t help but be overwhelmed at times with feelings of gratitude, thankfulness, and humility. You understand that life is impermanent and don’t take anything for granted. Others around you don’t understand why you like spending time in nature so much, why you meditate so often, or why you stare at the stars all the time, but that’s because they are simply too distracted with worldly matters to see the big picture.

If you identify with any or all of these 5 things, then you can be sure that you are either mature beyond your years or you have lived a life or two on this planet in the past.
The vast majority of the human population does not understand these 5 things, and actually takes pleasure in ridiculing and making fun of those who don’t seem to fit in.
You aren’t trying to be different, psychic, intuitive, or deep. Your soul is just hardwired a different way. Don’t let anybody tell you that you need to change to fit the expectations of the world around you.
The world doesn’t need more carbon copies. It needs more individuals following the things that make their souls come alive.

Thank you Toast bobhardee, posts like this warm my heart so. It's exactly why I'm a bit of a recluse now, spending much time in nature
and heal some of my "stories" by enjoying my creative work and friendship with villagers. I'm so blessed with meeting the right kind of people, the offer
of treats. I'll have a bicycle soon also, here! Can't wait almost, to explore the nature reserve areas around Glastonbury Tor, The Levels, where only bicycles can ride on footpaths. It's pretty remote and I don't have a car. Birdlife is abundant overthere and quietude too!

From my living room I can see little birds gathering nest material. With some blackbird couples they come for food on my terrace, picking up the crumbs from my home made bread. The dawn chorus is awesome and beautiful. Owls are hooting here too!

Given the rapidity with which rational thought has developed during the last two centuries,
I can under stand why, today, we find ourselves in a world in which we analyze everything
in the minutest detail. On the other hand, we have largely lost the ability to recognize the unity
of all things within the universe and the intimate place each one of us occupies in it.
In this unbalanced situation it is not surprising that I feel drawn to the very opposite
of the rational, to the intuitive realm. Here, the separation of subject from object
ceases to exist; the structure of space, which constantly separates the personal psychic
    world from the worlds of other beings and other dimensions, tends to be transcended;
the boundaries of time are lifted, and the message of the past becomes relevant for

    THE PRESENT

"Sometimes life is quiet, don’t push.

    There are no ‘shoulds’.

    Peace is inner silence,

    Be still and listen

To the quiet whisper of your soul.

She is powerful in her silence.

No need to make noise to be seen

No need to make show to be heard

    Get in there, deep inside

    And rest in the dance.

    Know your flow that

    Bubbles and burbles along.

Don’t be clever, simple is good.

    Simple is quiet.

She is sleeping in the shade,

    Your inside self.

She who dances to the song

In your heart is quietly listening

To the rhythm of your soul beat.

    Cradle your knowing,

    Your hearts lullaby will

    Rock your soul and

Fan the fire of sleeping passion.

    Come little one, your feet

    Have wings that angels envy

And your eyes closed to darkness

Sparkle like a galaxy of stars

    On a moonlit sea.

    Come, rock gently, rest.

    Sometimes life is quiet

    Don’t push or pull.

Listen to the hum of the silence

    Be still, let HER dance".
