Yellowstone Supervolcano Alert: The Most Dangerous Volcano In America Is Roaring To Life

    Michael Snyder
    Activist Post

Right now, the ground underneath Yellowstone National Park is rising at a record rate.

In fact, it is rising at the rate of about three inches per year.

The reason why this is such a concern is because underneath the park sits the Yellowstone supervolcano

    – the largest volcano in North America.

Scientists tell us that it is inevitable that it will erupt again one day,

and when it does the devastation will be almost unimaginable.

A full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would dump a 10-foot-deep layer of volcanic ash

up to 1,000 miles away, and it would render much of the United States uninhabitable.

When most Americans think of Yellowstone, they tend to conjure up images of Yogi Bear and “Old Faithful”,

but the truth is that sleeping underneath Yellowstone is a volcanic beast

that could destroy our nation in a single day and now that beast is starting to wake up.

The Yellowstone supervolcano is so vast that it is hard to put it into words.

According to the Daily Mail, the magma “hotspot” underneath Yellowstone is approximately 300 miles wide…

The Yellowstone Caldera is one of nature’s most awesome creations and sits atop North America’s largest volcanic field.

Its name means ‘cooking pot’ or ‘cauldron’ and it is formed when land collapses following a volcanic explosion.

In Yellowstone, some 400 miles beneath the Earth’s surface is a magma ‘hotspot’

which rises to 30 miles underground before spreading out over an area of 300 miles across.
Atop this, but still beneath the surface, sits the slumbering volcano.

When most Americans think of volcanic eruptions in the United States,

they remember the catastrophic eruption of Mount St. Helens back in 1980.

But that eruption would not even be worth comparing to a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano.

And now the area around Yellowstone is becoming increasingly seismically active.

In fact, Professor Bob Smith says that he has never seen anything like this in the 53 years that he has been watching Yellowstone…

Until recently, Bob Smith had never witnessed two simultaneous earthquake swarms

in his 53 years of monitoring seismic activity in and around the Yellowstone Caldera.

Now, Smith, a University of Utah geophysics professor, has seen three swarms at once.

In September, 130 earthquakes hit Yellowstone over the course of a single week. This has got many Yellowstone observers extremely concerned…

Yellowstone’s recent earthquake swarms started on Sept. 10 and were shaking until about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 16.

“A total of 130 earthquakes of magnitude 0.6 to 3.6 have occurred

in these three areas, however, most have occurred in the Lower Geyser Basin,”

a University of Utah statement said. “Notably much of seismicity in Yellowstone occurs as swarms.”

So what is the worst case scenario?

Well, according to the Daily Mail, a full-blown eruption of Yellowstone could leave two-thirds of the United States completely uninhabitable…

It would explode with a force a thousand times more powerful than the Mount St Helens eruption in 1980.

Spewing lava far into the sky, a cloud of plant-killing ash would fan out and dump a layer 10ft deep up to 1,000 miles away.

Two-thirds of the U.S. could become uninhabitable as toxic air sweeps through it,

grounding thousands of flights and forcing millions to leave their homes.

Can you think of another potential disaster that could accomplish the same thing?

That is why what is going on at Yellowstone right now is so important, and the American people deserve the truth.

The following are some more facts about Yellowstone that I compiled that I included in a previous article…

#1 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone could be up to 1,000 time more powerful than the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980.

#2 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone would spew volcanic ash 25 miles up into the air.

#3 The next eruption of Yellowstone seems to be getting closer with each passing year.

Since 2004, some areas of Yellowstone National Park have risen by as much as 10 inches.

#4 There are approximately 3,000 earthquakes in the Yellowstone area every single year.

#5 In the event of a full-scale eruption of Yellowstone, virtually the entire northwest United States will be completely destroyed.

#6 A massive eruption of Yellowstone would mean that just about everything within a 100 mile radius of Yellowstone would be immediately killed.

#7 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone could also potentially dump a layer of volcanic ash that is at least 10 feet deep up to 1,000 miles away.

#8 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone would cover virtually the entire midwest United States with volcanic ash.

Food production in America would be almost totally wiped out.

#9 The “volcanic winter” that a massive Yellowstone eruption would cause would radically cool the planet.

Some scientists believe that global temperatures would decline by up to 20 degrees.

#10 America would never be the same again after a massive Yellowstone eruption. Some scientists believe that a full eruption by Yellowstone would render two-thirds of the United States completely uninhabitable.

#11 Scientists tell us that it is not a matter of “if” Yellowstone will erupt but rather “when” the next inevitable eruption will take place.

What makes all of this even more alarming is that a number of other very prominent volcanoes

around the world are starting to roar back to life right now as well.

For example, an Inquisitr article from back in July described how “the most dangerous volcano in Mexico” is starting to become extremely active…

Popocatepetl Volcano is at it again. The active volcano near Mexico City erupted again this morning, spewing ash up into the sky.

The volcano is currently in the middle of an extremely active phase. According to the International Business Times,

the volcano has registered 39 exhalations in the last 24 hours.

An eruption earlier this month caused several flights to be canceled in and out of Mexico City.

The BBC notes that officials raised the alert level yellow following Popocateptl’s eruption on Saturday morning.

Yellow is the third-highest caution level on the city’s seven step scale.

And an NBC News article from August noted that one of the most dangerous volcanoes in Japan has erupted 500 times so far this year…

Ash wafted as high as 3 miles above the Sakurajima volcano in the southern city of Kagoshima on Sunday afternoon,

forming its highest plume since the Japan Meteorological Agency started keeping records in 2006.

Lava flowed just over half a mile from the fissure, and several huge volcanic rocks rolled down the mountainside.

Though the eruption was more massive than usual, residents of the city of about 600,000 are used to hearing from their 3,664-foot neighbor.

Kagoshima officials said in a statement that this was Sakurajima’s 500th eruption this year alone.

So what does all of this mean?

Are we now entering a time when volcanic eruptions will become much more common all over the globe?

Could we rapidly be approaching the day when an absolutely devastating volcanic eruption will paralyze much of North America?

Please feel free to share what you think by posting a comment below…

There is still a lot of magma movement in the Yellowstone region.

    Something odd.. not to worry.

    UPDATE 12/26

    Preliminary Earthquake Report
    Magnitude 22.0
    Date-Time • 24 Dec 2013 15:50:39 UTC
    • 24 Dec 2013 08:50:39 near epicenter

    • 111 km (68 mi) N of Missoula, Montana
    • 187 km (115 mi) E of Hayden, Idaho
    • 220 km (136 mi) NW of Helena, Montana

Before it's news friend and reader who shared a startling email; Western Montana, home of the Yellowstone National Park, had just had a magnitude 22 earthquake… reading that, he assumed that either there was a major mistake or most of North America was about to be blown to smithereens. Our friend wasn’t the only one who had received that notification as we soon learned that other forums were talking about it as well. Surely there had to be a reason, it must have been a mistake. Or is there, as one Air Force General has speculated as outlined in the newly released first video below from KafkaWinstonWorld a ‘New Madrid’ or Yellowstone false flag attack on the horizon? The second newly released video from Gary Larrabee shares much more. Also below, a strange New Madrid USGS chart anomaly that gives us the title of the thread below: “Update – Seismos have been disabled – New Madrid fault line ready to blow.”

*** FLASH *** INDICATIONS OF SEVERE EARTHQUAKE / ERUPTION AT YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK Print
    Sunday, 02 February 2014 05:06
February 2, 2014 -- (TRN) -- A seismometer inside a borehole at Yellowstone National Park has begun reporting staggering underground activity near the southwest corner of Yellowstone Lake, possibly signaling the beginning of an eruption of the Super Volcano at the Yellowstone National Park. TRN has obtained the image of the Seismograph report and now YOU can see it for yourself!  This could be very nasty. . . (UPDATED 2-3-2014  9:00 AM)

Yellowstone lake is pretty much the center of what is the Yellowstone Caldera; the mouth of a massive Super Volcano, located beneath the park.

The activity began around 12:00 Noon, Mountain Standard Time (MST) on February 1, and was detected by a seismometer in Borehole B944 then continued, non-stop, all day yesterday getting worse and worse as the hours wore on.  The activity is continuing right now at 6:06 EST AM as this news article is being produced.

The readings being reported from seismometer inside Bore Hole #B944 are literally "off-the-scale." Is an earthquake brewing, or is this the beginning of a catastrophic eruption of the Yellowstone "Super Volcano?"

Seismographic Printout from Yellowstone National Park, Bore Hole #B944, for February 1, 2014.  The time stamp goes down the left edge.  Look at what starts happening from 12:00 Noon for the rest of the day.  By 3:00 PM MST, things get real dicey; by 5:00, it is clear there's real trouble happening underground.  By 7:00 PM, the seismographic gear is totally overwhelmed; with all readings going utterly off the scale.  This could be a sign that a massive eruption of the Yellowstone Super Volcano has begun deep underground.

More Unusual “Activity” at Yellowstone Super Volcano! Releasing Thousand More Times Of Helium Steam Than Anticipated

February 19, 2014 — (TRN) — Some worrying developments are taking place at the Super Volcano located beneath Yellowstone National Park; the kind of developments that were seen shortly before other volcanoes erupted. Not only was there a sudden rise in the elevation of the ground, and development of new cracks, but a gas called Helium-4, a very rare type of Helium, has begun coming out of the surface. It is the presence of this gas that has scientists quite concerned. If the Yellowstone Super Volcano were to erupt, it would be 2,000 times bigger than the eruption of Mount St. Helens in the 1980′s. Everything within 500 miles would be dead or destroyed within minutes, 2/3rds of the entire United States would be covered in volcanic ash and the climate of the entire planet would cool within a month. On top of that, just this past week, the largest earthquake in the US took place just a few miles from Yellowstone proving hot magma is on the move. Here’s what has scientists concerned:

Since late summer 2013, the Yellowstone GPS network has tracked a small ” ground deformation episode” in north-central Yellowstone National Park.

During the past five months, the NRWY GPS station has recorded about 3.5 cm (1.4 in) of uplift (the ground is rising) and about 1 cm (0.4 in) of southeastward ground movement, relative to a stable reference station north of the Park.

Measurements from other GPS stations in northern Yellowstone show smaller displacements, forming a circular pattern of deformation (circular — as in the round mouth of a volcano) consistent with a minor pressurization (building-up underground), about 6 to 10 km (4-6 miles) deep, near Norris Junction.

What has scientists very concerned is that Yellowstone has suddenly begun emitting massive amounts of Helium-4. Helium-4 seems to be the predictor of activity, as proved with other volcanos.

Doesn't sound good, does it.  Neutral I'm worried about you too Jenetta.  Notice they don't mention Canada when they talk about how much of the US it will effect if it goes.  And Siri Arc!  He's in Denver isn't he?  Do we know anyone else who lives in the area?

I've had a look in the past at the livecam at the Old Faithful and just decided to see what's happening there and on the website.  The livecam appears to be down with no explanation in their update section.  Coincidence?
    http://www.nps.gov/features/yell/live/live4.htm

I'm noticing also that they seem to be keeping a check and updates on the RSOE EDIS site, noting 'Activity' at both the Yellowstone Caldera and the Island Park Caldera not too far away.  You can get an up close look at the calderas and the earthquake activity currently there through the 'Details' link (7 around each one when I looked earlier).  It's actually a little scary how MANY earthquakes are being shown occurring around the world at present, more than normally seen there, and how much activity and eruptions there are in volcanoes all over the world.  There also seems to be a lot on the 'Earth Approaching Objects list' too which has to rattle things a little.

Don't have to worry about me Sanicle.  If the volcano blew though big time, its outer radius would extend into Alberta and Saskatchewan. Yes Siri Arc is in Denver along with Lee Ellis (Music), Giovonni is in Washington.  Harp rings and Nexrad?
The whole globe would be effected from the dust in the atmosphere.  Just what we need, a major Ice Age on top of a mini Ice Age.

I remember when Mount St. Helens blew in Washington. I was in my early thirties at the time. Had my relatives visiting from Australia and I was living in Victoria, British Columbia at the time. It was early morning and fell off my bed from the shaking and cannon boom sounds. If I was Jewish, would have said it sounded like the Shofar on Rosh Hashannah.

Increased quake activity possibly building to large quake

Recent swarm of earthquakes in Idaho under scrutiny
    http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-idaho-quakes-20140415,0,6089154.story#axzz2z9H5Xh1J
A swarm of about 25 small earthquakes in central Idaho during the last three weeks has prompted scientists to bring in additional seismographs in hopes of finding a cause, an official said.
“We have our theories, but we need more data,” Idaho Geological Survey research geologist Bill Phillips told the Los Angeles Times.
A University of Utah engineer drove to Challis late Tuesday with portable seismometers that will be deployed around the epicenter of the recent earthquakes, three of which have surpassed magnitude 4. The largest, a 4.9, was recorded Sunday.
Scientists want a better sense of how deep the earthquakes are occurring and whether they might be connected to a fault in a nearby valley.
Phillips said there was no oil drilling or geothermal activity in the sparsely populated mountainous region, leaving an unmapped fault or underground fluid movement among the possible causes.
University of Utah geophysicist Kris Pankow had already been scheduled to give a talk on earthquakes in Boise on Monday, but her visit captured extra attention because of the recent temblors. Intrigued by the local interest in the seismic activity, she agreed, along with the U.S. Geological Survey, to send up the measuring equipment.
“It was fortuitous that I was there,” Pankow, associate director of the university's seismograph stations, told The Times. "We try to cooperate and collaborate as we can."
The shaking hasn't led to serious damage in the region, which is filled with a “resilient crowd of ranchers that has seen it all,” Phillips said.
Scientists said they didn’t think the quakes were precursors to something bigger but that it’s hard to know without knowing more about what’s causing them.
The data gathered on the quakes so far come from distant seismographs – the closest is more than 50 miles away – and they might be missing some tiny shakes.
“Because we are a rural state, we do not have a dense seismic monitoring net,” Phillips said. “We are now locating earthquakes with Wyoming, Montana, Oregon and a few devices in Idaho. There’s a magnitude limit.”

Beneath Yellowstone, a volcano that could wipe out U.S.

John DiNardo: I noticed that the mainstream news media is trying to conceal the alarming truth about the growing danger of an explosion
of the Yellowstone super volcano caldera. There was a herd of bison filmed charging out of a sulfurous steaming, heating, or rumbling section of the Yellowstone National Park. The news media promptly issued a report that this film was a hoax, and that the herd of bison was charging INTO Yellowstone, not out of it. Now, it really takes an idiot to dream up a lie like that to pacify and distract the public. However, these idiots are also criminals, because as the danger grows that many thousands of unaware people may be killed in such a horrific catastrophe, those who chose to conceal this threat from the public must be charged with murder in the second degree.

Warn people! Store Food, Water, Silver Germicides . . . and google pollen masks, because volcanic dust particles are glassy and have sharp points which tear up lung tissue. John DiNardo

May 2014 – WYOMING - If the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts then millions of U.S. citizens could end up in Brazil, Australia, or Argentina. That’s according to the South African news website Praag, which said that the African National Congress was offered $10 billion a year for 10 years if it would build temporary housing for Americans in case of an eruption. The potential eruption of the supervolcano, one of the biggest in the world, has been a hot topic ever since videos of animals allegedly fleeing the area before an earthquake were posted online. Although the veracity of the claims haven’t been backed up, dozens of bloggers and others have been trying to figure out what, if anything, is going on. One of the latest theories is that the U.S. Geological Service and its partners, which keep an eye on the caldera, are hiding data from the public. The Praag article says that the South African government fears that placing so many Americans in South Africa could dramatically change the country.
“South Africa will not be part of the plan, because there is a risk that millions of white Americans could be sent to South Africa in an emergency situation and that this would pose a risk to black national culture identity,” Dr. Siph Matwetwe, spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs, is quoted as saying. “We have our own challenges, even if there is enough housing and infrastructure available, it will destabilize the country and may even bring back apartheid.” The gigantic volcano in Yellowstone has erupted three times over the last two million years, covering a huge area of surrounding land. Maps from educational institutions and government officials project that up to 17 states could be fully or partially impacted if the volcano erupted again. The far south of Canada could also get hit, as well as the far north of Mexico. Scientists aren’t sure when it will erupt next, although many have sought to assure the public that it probably won’t for a while. In reality, the volcano could erupt at any time, though officials would in theory be able to detect an impending eruption and alert Americans to the threat. –Epoch Times

7/11/2014 — CONFIRMED — Road melts at Yellowstone due to geothermal heat — Oil bubbling

“The ever-changing thermal geology of Yellowstone National Park has created a hot spot that melted an asphalt road and closed access to popular geysers and other attractions at the height of tourist season, officials said Thursday.

As they examined possible fixes, park officials warned visitors not to hike into the affected area, where the danger of stepping through solid-looking soil into boiling-hot water was high.

“There are plenty of other great places to see thermal features in the park,” Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash said. “I wouldn’t risk personal injury to see these during this temporary closure.”

Naturally changing thermal features often damage Yellowstone’s roads and boardwalks. Steaming potholes in asphalt roads and parking lots — marked off by traffic cones — are fairly common curiosities.

However, the damage to Firehole Lake Drive is unusually severe and could take several days to fix. The 3.3-mile loop six miles north of Old Faithful takes visitors past Great Fountain Geyser, White Dome Geyser and Firehole Lake.

Unusually warm weather for Yellowstone — with high temperatures in the mid-80s — has contributed to turning the road into a hot, sticky mess.

“We’ve got some ideas. We’re going to try them. Our maintenance staff has really looked at the issue,” Nash said.

Yellowstone Update: Roads Turning To Soup, Gravel Turning To Oatmeal (Videos)

    Monday, July 14, 2014 22:06

Most people understand that Yellowstone is sitting on top of a super volcano. The shifting earth and hot spots are nothing new. But the scientist now say that although this is nothing new, they have never seen it so severe.
Literally turning asphalt to soup. This is something to keep an eye on, but don’t panic and don’t change your vacation plans, you may get to see something few people have ever seen before.

I am including four videos to help you understand just what Yellowstone is and what scientists have been watching for Decades.
In the first video, Daboo0077 weighs in on the current situation in Yellowstone today.
The second video is from RT, describing the current situation in the park today. With more roads melting and gravel turning to oatmeal.
The third video is a documentary on Yellowstone's history and what we can expect in the future from this supervolcano.

The fourth video is How to survive a Yellowstone eruption. For preppers living in the Yellowstone area, this is a must see. Get the latest changes in Yellowstone condition as they happen.

The access road to the Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park is being closed by park rangers because a supervolcano beneath the park is literally melting the roadway. Officials are prohibiting visitors from driving or stepping onto the asphalt, as what looks a solid surface can collapse and leave the unsuspecting guests stranded in a pool of hot water. RT’s Manila Chan takes a look at the frightening scene in Yellowstone.

Yellowstone National Park lies on top of a magma chamber that is 35-miles wide, waiting to erupt.
The Yellowstone Caldera is the volcanic caldera and supervolcano located in Yellowstone National Park in the United States, sometimes referred to as the Yellowstone Supe rvolcano. The caldera is located in the northwest corner of Wyoming, in which the vast majority of the park is contained. The major features of the caldera measure about 34 by 45 miles (55 by 72 km).
The caldera formed during the last of three super eruptions over the past 2.1 million years. First came the Huckleberry Ridge eruption 2.1 million years ago, which created the Island Park Caldera and the Huckleberry Ridge Tuff. Next came the Mesa Falls eruption 1.3 million years ago, which created the Henry’s Fork Caldera and the Mesa Falls Tuff. Finally came the Lava Creek eruption 640,000 years ago, which created the Yellowstone Caldera and the Lava Creek Tuff.

The last full-scale eruption of the Yellowstone Super volcano, the Lava Creek eruption which happened nearly 640,000 years ago, ejected approximately 240 cubic miles (1,000 km3) of rock, dust and volcanic ash into the sky.
Geologists are closely monitoring the rise and fall of the Yellowstone Plateau, which measures on average 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) yearly, as an indication of changes in magma chamber pressure.

RUSSIA ISSUES: Grim Report On Yellowstone Super volcano Eruption
Health and Nutrition, Mother Earth, World News No Responses »
    Published on Jun 13, 2014
A grim report prepared by Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force Lieutenant-General Viktor Bondarev on the just completed scientific mission of North America carried out by Four Tupolev Tu-95 Strategic Aircraft and Two Ilyushin Il-78 Aerial Refueling Tankers that “electronically swept” for “magnetic anomalies” from Alaska to California warns that a “catastrophic event” may be nearing for this region. This report, however, states that this scientific mission was necessitated by a “severe mysterious magnetic anomaly” detected by the Kosmos 2473 satellite on June 3rd occuring in the Yellowstone Region of the Western United States which resulted in what is called an Earthquake Swarm.
